archives -- The Archives of the United States of America. This is the place that houses the originals of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. bjs -- It's a store that had a silly name. It's located on I-66 west of Washington DC capitol1 -- A shot of the Capitol building while walking towards it capitol2 -- Capitol building in the background of a statue. capitol3 -- Capitol building from the other side of the reflecting pool. I believe it's the back of the building cause the statue on the top faces opposite from this direction. capitol4 -- Capitol building from the base of the Washington Monument. chariot -- I took a video accidentally. It's a chariot that's in front of the Capitol building, then alittle bit of me walking :P churchlike -- A building east of the Washington Monument and west of the Capitol building...looked cool to me. dept_education -- The entrance to the Department of Education building...stupid No Child Left behind crap. downtown_dc -- Metro DC from the monuments area. firstlook -- My first look at Washington DC as I stepped out of the metro line. foxxx -- One of Syrris' roommates g -- I met her at the furmeet that was going on during the weekend I was there. Everyone just referred to her as 'G'. Really cool person and really good artist. greco -- It's alittle blurry...The figure in the front is a guy in civil war-like clothes surrounded by god-like beings...I'm not sure what it's for, but it was cool. horse -- It's a statue of a soldier on a horse in front of the Capitol building. I really wish they had labels or plaques for statues around there cause I don't know what they're there for. iforgethisname -- Name of file says it all. Another of Syrris' roommates whose name I forgot ^^; irs -- The dreaded IRS!!! Just the front door to the building jeff1 -- Jefferson Memorial from the base of the Washington Monument. It's behind all the trees :P jeff2 -- Jefferson Memorail from the other side of the Tidal Basin. korea1 -- A wall beside the Korean War Veterans Memorial. Very cool looking. korea2 -- Another shot of the wall. You can see me in the reflection! :o korea3 -- The front of the Korean War Veterans Memorial korea4 -- Engraving at the head of the memorial korea5 -- A wreath that was set in front of the memorial. The ribbons are in Korean, if you can't see it. lincoln1 -- The Lincoln Memorial from the base of the Washington Monument. lincoln2 -- The memorial from the base of the steps. lincoln3 -- The big statue of Abraham Lincoln in the memorial. Those are some kids taking a pic for their parents in front of the statue. No, they're not adults...if they were that statue would be huge! lincoln4 -- This is the engraving of Lincoln's inaugural speech for his 2nd term. lincoln5 -- Engraving of the Gettysburg Address. lincoln6 -- It's hard to see, but it's a mural above the engraving. There's one above his inaugural speech as well. You can see them here: http://www.nps.gov/linc lincoln 7 -- Under the memorial there's an area where it shows some of Lincoln's speeches and letters engraved like this. magna carta -- I'm not very sure if it's the actual copy of the Magna Carta, but it's the Magna Carta from 1297. (http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/featured_documents/magna_carta/) It's alittle hard to imagine that a document that's over 700 years old is still legible while the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, which are less that 300 years old, are barely able to be read. sly -- One of Syrris' roommates. syrris1 -- It's Syrris. Pretty much the guy who I went to visit in the area. syrris 2 -- Syrris again. wash1 -- Washington Monument from the base of the steps at the Capitol building. wash2 -- Same shot as before but zoomed in. You can see the Lincoln Memorial in the distance behind the Washington Monument. wash3 -- The Washington Monument while walking down Constitution Avenue. wash4 -- The monument from the base of the hill that leads up to it. wash_cap1 -- Taken from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. You can see how the Capitol building, the Washington Monument, and the Lincoln Memorial are all in a line. wash_cap2 -- Same kind of shot, though on more of a straight line. You can't see the rotunda of the Capitol building in this shot. windy -- This is how windy is was standing at the bast of the Washington Monument. It was windy like that everywhere that day. ww2 poster -- A World War II poster in the National Archives. My flash accidentally went off when I took this pic. You're not allowed flash photography in the archives ^^;;
